HISTORY
HELISTAR S.A.S.. was born on June 8, 1999 under the name Aeroregional, a company operating non-scheduled air public transport with rotary wing aircraft between Medellin and Rionegro in the department of Antioquia. These operations would remain unchanged during the first 6 years of operation.
In 2005 supported in a recognized operational experience, new shareholders and a huge growth desire, the company Aeroregional becomes what is now HELISTAR S.A.S., adding to our Operations Certificate CDO Bell 212, MI-8MTV-1 and MI-171 helicopters. Additionally, certifying the main operating base in the Enrique Olaya Herrera Airport in Medellin, where today we still operate administrative, technical and operationally.
However, the big growth comes from 2007 when the company planned to increase its fleet, incorporating two new Bell 412 EP and one Eurocopter EC145 helicopters and, one King Air 350 aircraft; all of them equipped with the latest technology which meets the highest requirements of our customers. This fleet growth has been accompanied by a continued growth of our human resource which has grown nearly 70% in the past two years.
But not everything has been growing fleet and staff. Within the days the company has improved its internal management processes, where we note with great pride the Safety Management System SMS implementation, the ongoing work in HSEQ leading the company to the international environmental management certification under ISO 14001 standards, the approval and certification to perform own maintenance by the UEAEC (Colombian Civil Aviation Authority), and most importantly, we have consolidated our customers by providing them an effective, safe, reliable and quality service.
